Flugentagen!

I haven't posted in awhile so I feel it's time for an update.  Recently I went to a RedBull event in Long Beach called the Flugtag ("flight day" in German).  In the spirit of this event, I created my own version of a Flugtag (this one probably wouldn't make the human powered requirement ;)  )

Form Experiments

A couple of design experiments I worked on for a method called Form Language.  Fun stuff, alot of them turned into architecture or structural pieces.  I hope I can get around to painting more of these soon.

Farmer John

Recent painting.  Really wanted to showcase scale on this one.  I can hear the guy mumbling "get off my lawn!"

Paintings and Rally Vehicles

I've finally got around to doing a couple of painting studies. This is my first experience with a more painterly style and I love it! It's so much fun and I feel like I learn so much about lighting and composition when doing these studies. The sketches are some quick thumbnail vehicles I worked on while on lunch break at Black and Decker. I was thinking of an off-road rally race that's sort of open to all classes and forms of vehicles. I was really just having fun and taking a break from faucet design. I'm definitely gonna have to take one of these into a painting later!

Aggressive (?) Car and Studies

I have a few friends who are into transportation design, and it's been
rubbing off on me. So I decided to change things up a bit and do a car
sketch. It's inspired by the most fearsome creature in the animal
kingdom- the mighty Gerbil!

Below are a few studies I did while at a local military musuem. I'm
fascinated with all things mechanical and I'll definitely use what I
learned here in future works!

I recently contributed for an article called Development Sheet for ImagineFX magazine based in the UK. The article features a designers development and thought process behind a design.
